Ahhh
Legs. This is BG's first
foal, an Appendix QH filly by a very nice cutting bred stallion, Chickasha B
Star (x Chick An Tari). I keep putting her up for sale and then changing my
mind, so I have kept her because, well, I really like her. She has
everything I look for in a horse, from conformation, to athleticism, to
personality... and heck, nothing wrong with that steel gray colour either!
As of August 2005, she was exactly 15h, but has hit another growth spurt
over winter, so I'm not sure exactly where she is now.... except taller!
UPDATE... it appears Legs will be far more like her dam... she is about
16.0h right now and still growing....! September 2006...
Legs
came by her nickname very naturally. She was born looking like she was on
stilts! Lots of leg under that tiny little body, but did she ever sort them
out early! She is like a very large dog really, she'll happily follow you
anywhere you wish to go and likes to help with fencing. Now, when I say
"help", I should actually say "hinder". She has one of the most
unflappable, laid back personalities on the farm. There really is nothing I
have found so far that will faze her or startle her.
Legs
has proven to be smart and willing and will try very hard to figure out what
you are asking of her. I enjoy riding her immensely and hope to have many
more hours together with her in the saddle. She truly is versatility in one
package, having the movement to do rail classes, a natural jumping ability,
the speed for arena events and the mind to trail ride. Perhaps one day she
and I will make our debut in a show ring... somewhere...
