THE HORSE
Cracker is an eye catching white buckskin roan stallion with oodles of personality and athletic ability. Ultimately he is being aimed at the WCH arena but will do some reining and all around classes on his way there. His sire, Quixote Laico, is an unshown, but fully trained cutting horse who we recently had the opportunity to purchase. Cracker is a double grandson of Laico Leo Bar who was a AAA Champion, SI96. His lines are known for versatility, athleticism and speed. Add a touch of Doc Quixote, King Leo Bar and Pasamonte Paul in there and his lines are an excellent mix of the old proven bloodlines behind so many top pedigrees sought after in the cow horse world today. He has no Poco Bueno and also having been tested N/N for HERDA, he will never throw the HERDA gene. With only one cross to Doc Bar in his fifth generation, and no Peppy San Badger, Cracker's old bloodlines are also a tremendous outcross for your cow horse mares with heavy Doc Bar or PSB bloodlines. Updated photos to come, I need some of him going under saddle, but being the photographer AND the rider... that doesn't always work.
Cracker came home from Oklahoma injured unfortunately, and while at first I hoped it was stiffness from the long trailer ride, upon vet inspection and x-rays we unfortunately are looking at a stifle injury. After various treatments over the past few months we have been unsuccessful at keeping him pain free, so he will be going in for arthroscopic surgery after the breeding season in 2009 to better discover the nature of the injury to the soft tissues and determine the best measures to fix him. He will still be standing at stud, but will once again have his show career postponed! I will get him shown... even if he's 10 when it happens!!
THE OFFSPRING
Cracker's first foal crop hit the ground in 2007, and the consistency in his get was tremendous to see. All of them have excellent conformation, good feet and bone, huge hips and his pretty, pretty heads. His four foals for 2008 have arrived and are even better than we could have hoped! Photos will be added to his offspring page. As his first foals mature to yearlings and now coming 2yo, I am excited with how they are filling out and growing. All are good minded, and easy to train.
